C'est glaçant !!! Je me suis régalé les acteurs sont justes parfaits à chaque saison les rôles leurs vont à souhaits bravo et merci 🙏 J'ai tjr hésiter pour regarder cette série et je me suis lancer j'ai commencé à regarder 3 épisode finalement c'est super 22 september 2018 Tellement magnifique. Surprenant de la part d'ABC, j'ai failli passer à côté à cause de ça. Une série qui fait mal, sans concessions, dure. 3 saisons seulement, quel dommage, il y aurait tant à dire encore sur cette Amérique sombre et effrayante. 5 étoiles pour cette série qu'il faut voir absolument. qu'est ce qu'ils auraient pu nous reserver comme theme dans une saison 4... j'avais lu qque part que le theme de la maltraitance des femmes était envisagé femmes battues, le viol... ... on a du leur dire d'arreter le tir, ca allait peut etre trop loin...il est vrai que les themes qu'ils abordent ne font pas honneur à l'Amérique... ouais , vaut mieux un ''Last ship'' ou un ''Blacklist'' ou un ''supernatural'' ... l'interet de ne pas éveiller les consciences ... mais voyons le bon coté des choses, on a eu droit à 3 saisons de qualité qui nous ont apporté un vrai regard sur certains démons de notre société moderne...et ca fait réfléchir... arghh... quelle magnifique saison 3 !!! le theme de l'esclavage moderne n'est pas simple et Américan crime s'en ait sorti à merveille! le concept de plusieurs histoires au dénominateur commun décrivant différentes formes d'esclavage de notre temps est formidablement retranscrit... on est hypnotisé par la qualité du déroulement de la narration... je m'incline devant tant de talent... que ce soit les acteurs, le scénario, la réal... j'ai bien mis 4 étoiles depuis le debut mais cette fois ci, ce sera 5 étoiles pour cette saison qui est , hélas,hélas, hélas...la derniere puisqu"elle a été injustement annulée... Evidemment, ca ne fait pas autant d'audience qu'une daube industrielle mais c bien connu, la ''bouffe'' de super marché est plus rentable que la grande cuisine.... Aux antipodes du rêve américain, c'est le cauchemar américain que décrit cette superbe série, beaucoup trop lucide et critique, bref beaucoup trop réaliste pour pouvoir perdurer plus de 3 saisons sur les chaines de divertissement. Je suis même surpris qu'elle ait pu voir le jour et durer aussi longtemps. A ne pas manquer, c'est du lourd. Très belle série. Les acteurs sont incroyables; la série est addictive et parle de sujets sérieux de notre société. BobMarley 6 september 2017 En attaquant la série je pensais avoir affaire à une série policière. Mais on est là beaucoup plus dans le drame social que dans l'intrigue policière et la série eut été mieux nommée American Drama qu'American Crime. La saison 1 m'a quelque peu agacé, parfois franchement énervé, mais au final c'est quand même une superbe réussite. Tous les acteurs sont au top dans ce Roméo et Juliette en noir et blanc au pays des junkies. Quoique un peu moins apocalyptique dans son dénouement, la saison 2 est tout aussi dramatique. Bonne idée de réutiliser les acteurs de la saison 1 dans des rôles tout à fait différents à l'exception notable et regrettable de Caitlin Gerard Aubry qui faisait si forte impression dans la saison 1. Une très belle série avec de bons acteurs qui m'a pris aux tripes très rapidement. Je la recommande pfffffffff ... j'aurai bien encore voulu qq saisons en plus. 3ème saison bien prenante. Approche de cette classe qui en Amérique n'a rien ou peu à dire. La classe de celles/ceux qui génèrent le pognon pour ceux/celles qui l'empochent. Si saison 4 il y a, elle devrait porter sur les inégalités homme/femme au travail. Superbe série, j'ai une petite préférence pour la saison 2 que je trouve encore plus profonde ! Hâte de voir la suite marievallod 23 february 2017 une bonne saison... le sujet aurait gagné à etre traité de maniere plus intense...ca reste assez sobre voire classique... comme dans la saison 1...American crime à un style bien particulier... peu d'émotions dans les personnages à part la mere...un sujet comme ca aurait du déchainer les passions mais tout est en retenue... mais bon, on traverse cette saison avec interet jusqu'au bout et c le principal... N'étant pas originellement fan des anthologies, celle-ci est réussie! Les deux saisons sont à couper le souffle, bien que j'ai une préférence pour la première saison ; ce sont des tabous de l'histoire américaine qui sont retranscrit à l'écran, et avec une mise en scène d'une qualité surprenante pour une chaîne comme ABC que je compare à "The leftovers". There are some stories that are stranger than fiction, and the way Impeachment American Crime Story tells it, Bill Clinton’s time in office is one of them. Most people think of Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky as a time full of blue dress jokes and crass nicknames. Alternatively, Impeachments first episode begins its story with a tragic suicide, a disgruntled employee looking anywhere for validation, a wronged young woman desperate for an apology, and a budding political and media machine that’s all too happy to use these conflicting forces to achieve its own goals. In fact, “Exiles” covers a lot of ground in a very short amount of time. It starts with Monica Lewinsky Beanie Feldstein being taken by FBI agents in the middle of the food court of the Pentagon City Mall before diving into Vince Foster’s tragic death and the beginning days of Paula Jones’ Annaleigh Ashford case. As is the case with every season of American Crime Story, all of this jaw-dropping drama is based on real life. But whether it’s due to time restraints or relevance, there are some details the series glosses over. That’s where we come into the picture. Consider this your guide to some of the biggest shocking-but-true moments from Impeachment American Crime Story Episode 1. 1 Vince Foster's suicide was a big moment in the Clinton administration. FX The way that Impeachment tells it, the first link the chain that would lead to Bill Clinton’s impeachment was Vince Foster taking his own life. Originally a lawyer in Arkansas, Foster portrayed by Matthew Floyd Miller joined Clinton’s presidential transition team in 1992. He became Deputy White House Counsel soon after in 1993. It’s been noted that Foster had a difficult time adjusting to Unlike his peers, he had no experience with campaigns or election politics, and the job took him away from his family. That stress compounded with a scandal that dominated the early days of the Clinton administration, “Nannygate.” Zoë Baird was nominated to be first woman to be Attorney General of the United States, but when it was revealed that she had hired undocumented immigrants, she withdrew her nomination. Foster didn’t realize how detrimental this scandal would be and, according to sources, blamed himself for Baird’s failed nomination. This is all to say that this pressure took a toll. In July of 1993, Foster was found dead of a gunshot wound in Fort Marcy Park. An investigation later declared it to be a suicide. Foster was 48 at the time and left behind a wife and three children. At the time of his death, Linda Tripp portrayed by Sarah Paulson was Foster’s executive assistant who even served him his last meal. After Foster’s death, Tripp was shuffled around the White House until she was given a job in the public affairs office of the Pentagon with a $20,000 raise. Tripp would later call this firing vindictive, a claim the White House would dispute. There is another odd wrinkle to this period of history. Foster’s death gave rise to several conspiracy theories from tabloids, some of which claimed the Clintons were actually responsible for his death. Special prosecutor Kenneth Starr portrayed by Dan Bakkedahl, who would later play a major part in the Lewinsky/Clinton scandal, investigated Foster’s death and ruled that it was not, in fact, a homicide. 2 In addition to Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey also alleged that Bill Clinton sexually assaulted her. Photo Tina Thorpe/FX " While Impeachment dives heavily into one woman who made allegations against Clinton, there’s another name to keep in the back of your mind Kathleen Willey portrayed by Elizabeth Reaser. Willey was a former White House volunteer aide. In March of 1998 Willey went on 60 Minutes and claimed that Clinton sexually assaulted her on November 29, 1993. Specifically, she said the President embraced her, kissed her on the mouth, grabbed her breast, and made her put her hand on his genitals. Clinton has denied these claims. Willey’s complicated relationship with Linda Tripp Sarah Paulson was a very real thing. Willey was subpoenaed to testify in Paula Jones’ sexual harassment case. After she gave her testimony, Tripp claimed that Willey tried to pursue a romantic relationship with the President. WIlley’s testimony was a source of contention during the Jones case due to the conflicting stories Willey, Tripp, and Clinton presented. 3 The Whitewater controversy was a big deal. FX Throughout “Exiles” Linda Tripp constantly worries that she’ll be subpoenaed for Whitewater. It’s such an acute fear that she all but demands her boss in the Pentagon give her an enclosed office. This particular controversy was a recurring theme throughout the 1990s. Whitewater revolved around the real estate investments of Bill and Hillary Clinton as well as their associates, Jim McDougal and Susan McDougal. It started in 1978 when Bill was serving as Arkansas’s attorney general and the couple was looking for a way to supplement their income. Together the four formed the Whitewater Development Corporation, which was supposed to buy 230 acres of riverfront land and sell it back as vacation homes. The investment was a bad one, but it was Jim McDougal who made it illegal. McDougal purchased a small savings and loan association and defrauded both it and a small-business investment firm for $3 million. The connection between this fraud and Whitewater has always been shaky. But Clintons’ critics have argued that the President and First Lady were involved, and it’s still brought up today in arguments against them. Eventually, Linda Tripp did become connected to Whitewater. In 1998 she contacted Whitewater’s Independent Counsel, Ken Starr. But as a general rule, Tripp was not a major figure in the Whitewater scandal. 4 Paula Jones' case launched Ann Coulter's media career. Photo FX This may come as a surprise to some, but Paula Jones’ portrayed by Annaleigh Ashford case helped launch the media career of conservative media pundit Ann Coulter Cobie Smulders. As mentioned in Episode 1, Coulter first became familiar with Jones thanks to her friend George Conway. Shortly after, she wrote a column about Jones for Human Events and started writing legal briefs for the case. Coulter’s critics have argued that she only became interested in the case as a possible avenue to bring down Bill Clinton. In Michael Isikoff’s book Uncovering Clinton A Reporter’s Story, he reported Coulter as saying, “We were terrified that Jones would settle. It was contrary to our purpose of bringing down the President.” Coulter herself has somewhat agreed with that characterization, but has clarified that she and her colleagues didn’t want to impeach Clinton because of a secret political motive. Instead, she claims she wanted to remove him from the White House because she believed him to be the type of man who would sexually assault White House volunteers and assistants. 5 Monica Lewinsky's nickname for Bill Clinton really was "Handsome." Photo FX " In the final moments of the episode, Monica Lewinsky Beanie Feldstein finally gets her long-awaited phone call. Slowly smiling, she answers by saying, “Hi, Handsome.” That was the real Monica Lewinsky’s nickname for Clinton. But what’s more interesting about this scene is the fact that she’s on the phone at all. Late night phone calls play a major role in this story. Because Lewinsky was forbidden from calling Clinton, he would always call her. And since he never told her when he was going to do so, Lewinsky spent night after night sitting by her phone, waiting for a call. This waiting game also ties into why it was so easy for Linda Tripp to record so many of their conversations. Because Lewinsky was often home alone and bored, she would often call her friend and the two would talk for long periods of time.
